The Zucchi Collection is considered the immensest today existing collection to the world of blocks for press by hand on woven. 56,000 pieces, that they correspond to 12.000 designs, record evolversi of the European culture of ornament in a time arc that lambisce three centuries (1785-1935).
The designs enclosed in the blocks from press space from the styles more classics, to the floreali reasons and to cashmere, until the first artistic vanguards represented from the Art Noveau and the Art Decò.
To the Zucchi group it has been assigned, in 1997, 1° the Guggenheim Prize in order to have saved from sure destruction a precious patrimony of materials for the history of the woven one, for to have transformed the greatest collection than antichi stamps for woven in the archives and museum opened to the public.
The museum offers the opportunity to admire the various tipologie of realization of the blocks and the variety of the designs contained in this collection. During the visit the possibility exists to assist by hand to a demonstration of press, which testimony of one technical by now passing, but that has constituted a fundamental stage in the evolution of the technologies weaves them.
